Ulverley School believe that starting Nursery is a very important milestone in every child’s life. We are keen to work with you to make sure that starting Nursery is a positive experience for your child, and to help your child achieve their full potential in a warm and caring environment.

Our Nursery is a full time 60 place nursery. Due to staffing commitments we currently operate at 52 children but this will be reviewed periodically dependant on our waiting list.

All parents are requested to register pupils as soon as possible as this will assist the School in making future plans. Attendance at the Nursery does not guarantee a place in Reception and parents need to apply for the Reception admission separately by applying directly to the local authority.

15 hours provision - All children are entitled to 15 free hours a week in an Early Years educational setting from the term after their third birthday. At Ulverley, we offer our provision in two sessions:

  • Morning Nursery- 8.30am-11.30am

  • Afternoon Nursery- 12.30pm-3.30pm

  • Flexible options are available on request

30 hours provision - Some children may be eligible for 30 free hours a week in an Early Years educational setting. To find out if your child qualifies for the full 30 hours of please refer to the following website

  • 30 hours free childcare Gov.uk

At Ulverley, we offer our 30 hours provision in the school Nursery between 9.00am and 3.00pm during term time only.

  2. Where the child has a sibling currently attending the school as a pupil and will be attending at the date of the intended admission.

  3. Those living within 3 miles of the school, at the date of application or confirmation. Nearer to the school measured in a straight line distance from the school being given priority.

Special Circumstances -The following groups of children will be given special consideration in their application for a nursery place. Children whose particular medical needs, mobility support needs, special educational needs or other social circumstances are supported by written evidence from a doctor, social worker or other relevant professional. The evidence must be presented before the closing date. The appropriate designated officers will consider each case and determine the allocation of any such place on the basis of written evidence. Admission under special circumstances will have priority over the numbered criterion.
