Roles and Responsibilities
The core responsibility of the Advisory Board centres around teaching and learning and will specifically focus upon:
- Monitoring the impact of leadership upon the quality of teaching and learning within the school.
- Teaching and learning across the school and how this impacts upon standards and outcomes.
- Reviewing the effectiveness of curriculum provision across all year groups.
- Reviewing the impact of external support for the school.
- School priorities within the School Development Plan and the impact of these initiatives upon teaching and learning.
- Vulnerable groups and their performance.
- Standards across the school and how this is evidenced in data and within books and wider sources.
In addition to these core responsibilities, the Advisory Board will:
- Ratify and approve policies at a school based level not covered by the MAT.
- Carry out an audit of the Single Central Record (this will be done by the Chair of the Advisory Board).
