SEND
Ulverley School is a diverse school with a range of families representing a variety of different backgrounds. These families come together with their similarities and differences as one community.
Our community is built upon respect and kindness, where everyone is supported and appreciated. We believe in ourselves and others, being positive and resilient in order to move forwards, compromising wherever we can. We do our best to show excellent behaviours, being good role models and doing only that which is beneficial.
We are purposeful in our actions, being in the right place at the right time, with the right kit and in the right frame of mind. As such, we believe that it is important to tell everyone what they need to know, when they need to know it.
We strive to improve, learning collaboratively with and from others, providing opportunities for all.
Ulverley School is committed to using our best endeavours to provide:
- Teaching and learning that is purposeful and of the highest quality
- All pupils with access to a broad and balanced curriculum
- An active and nurturing environment where our children feel safe and secure and are inspired to follow their dreams
- Support to meet the academic, social and emotional and behavioural needs of our children in order for them to achieve
- An inclusive environment, where provision is tailored to the needs and abilities of pupils.
This will then enable our children to:
- Achieve their best
- Become confident individuals, fulfilling their lives
- Make successful transition to their next phase of education.
We consider every teacher to be a teacher of every child, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). We have the highest aspirations and expectations for all pupils, including those with special educational needs/disabilities.
We aim to achieve a community where parents and those working in school have a mutual trust and confidence in each other, created through clear, consistent approaches to communication and collaborative working, to enable outstanding outcomes for children with SEND.
Inspiration. Achievement. Community.
If you have any questions about SEND, or are struggling, please get in touch to let us know. We want to support you, your child and your family.

Mrs Gwilliam is our Inclusion Lead. You can contact her to discuss the needs of your child that reasonable classroom adaptations, created in collaboration between you and the class teacher, have been unable to meet; request referrals to external professionals, for example, paediatricians, via email at SEND@ulverleyschool.co.uk. |
