Following last year's disappointing test results, we are delighted to share our much improved provisional results for the 2019 tests. Overall, our results are significantly up on last year, with 18% more children reaching national expectations in Reading, 22% more in Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling and 19% more in Maths. In Reading and Grammar, we did better than the national average. The overall average scaled score has also increased in both Reading and Maths. In Reading this is now higher than the national average and broadly in line with Maths. Although still below the expected level, progress is also improved on last year in Reading and Maths. All of these meant that those children achieving national expectation in Reading, Writing and Maths combined rose by 19%.
Whilst we appreciate that there is still work to do as we continue to aspire for higher results, this is a pleasing step towards that shared goal.
